What we collect
When you register or order: name, email address, telephone number, billing address, the property address you search for or order data about, and your order history. When you use the contact form: name, email, telephone, property address and message. Automatically: IP address, browser type, pages visited and the cookies described in our Cookie policy.
Why we use it
To create and manage your account and process and deliver your orders (performance of a contract); to answer enquiries and quote for surveys (our legitimate interest in running the business, or steps before a contract); to keep accounting records and comply with tax law (legal obligation); to keep the site secure and prevent fraud (legitimate interest). We do not use your data for automated decision-making and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
Stripe, which processes card payments and applies its own privacy policy; our website hosting and email providers; our accountants; and, for survey requests, the surveyor attending the property. We do not transfer your data outside the UK except where a provider is covered by UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
Account and order records are kept for six years after your last order, to meet accounting and legal requirements. Contact form enquiries are kept for twelve months. You can ask us to delete your account at any time, subject to those retention requirements.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict processing, and ask for data portability. Email info@surway.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
